School staff recognised at CHAS College Teaching Awards for 2023/2024.

Last week, we were delighted to see four staff members from the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems awarded in the CHAS College Teaching Awards for 2023/2024.
This highly competitive process saw 264 faculty and staff nominated by over 650 students and staff members. Of these, 47 members from across the College of Health and Agricultural Sciences (CHAS) went on to submit applications for one of the two award categories: Teaching Excellence Award or Exceptional Contribution to Learning.
College Teaching Excellence Awards went to our very own Associate Professor Aoife De Brún, Assistant Professor John Gilmore and Associate Professor Mary Ryder. For the College Exceptional Contribution to Learning Award, Dr Aoife MacCormac was a recipient and we are delighted to see she has also been recommended for a University level application.
Chaired by the College Principal and with representation from across the College, the adjudication panel (which included past University level award recipients), considered all applications against the award criteria and formally recognise these colleagues, their contributions to the student learning experience, and their part in ensuring excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment continues to be at the heart of CHAS.
A massive congratulations to all of the recipients, from our School and beyond. We know it’s the continued commitment of our brilliant faculty that make the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems such a great place to learn and we are delighted to see them get the recognition they deserve.
